Gas Prices hold steady

The national average price for a gallon of gas remained pretty much the same over the past three weeks. Trilby Lundberg, publisher of the Lundberg Survey of gas prices, says you should expect to pay a bit more over the next few weeks though.  “I do think that the trend ex-crude is for a bit more at the pump because retailers are too squeezed.” Lundberg gives the current national average price for a gallon regular gas.  “In the past three weeks gasoline prices dropped two cents to $3.64 for regular.” Regionally, prices were much more volatile, concludes Lundberg. “Around the country in the past few weeks there have been several refineries doing maintenance and repairs that are seasonal and some of them were unplanned.  What has happened is that several of those refineries have comeback and completed all the work while others are now completing them.” According to the survey, refineries, on and off line at different times, are to blame for the sharp, local price fluctuation.
