Seneca donates to Walhalla Pool

In a show of inter-city government cooperation and support, the Seneca City Council unanimously approved a recommendation Tuesday night to donate pool equipment to the City of Walhalla, which is in the process of restoring its swimming pool.  Seneca City Councilman Scott Durham tells about the donation of equipment.  “There are some ladders, filtration system, a fence that goes around the kiddy pool, pumps and slides.  There just numerous things there that were just going to waste and we sent a letter to the Walhalla Mayor and told him we would be glad to help in anyway that we possible can to see the pool open.  So, hopefully we can work something out there and it can be used by everyone and with this help get it open quicker.”  Seneca and Westminster no longer operate municipal pools. Therefore, Walhalla’s would be the only municipal pool in the county this summer.  Walhalla hopes to reopen its pool some time next month.
