OC Sheriff’s Office reaches DOK Kit Goal

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will be able to supply all their certified deputies with tourniquets, after a fundraiser this past Saturday in Fair Play.  Over $2,100 was raised in the parking lot of the Gazebo Restaurant at Highway 11 and I-85.  The Gazebo Restaurant, along with Lake and Land Realty and Phantom Fireworks, sponsored the event. The proceeds were raised via the sale of BBQ plates, a cake walk, buying tickets for giveaways throughout the day, plus the sales of Fair Play t-shirts from Diamond T Promotions of Fair Play. There were also individuals and organizations, such as the Upstate SC Chapter of Defenders, a law enforcement motorcycle club, who contributed donations as well.  Five individuals purchased DOK kits directly on Saturday from Tactical Medical Solutions, Inc. of Anderson, who also donated 20 of the DOK kits last week to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.  With the combination of funds raised and money and DOK kits donations, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will be able to provide its 85 sworn officers a DOK kit.
