Suzy Fago named OMC Employee of the Month for June

Oconee Medical Center named Suzy Fago, RN, Employee of the Month for June 2013. Fago is a nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of the hospital. Fago has been with Oconee Medical Center since 2005. She is relief Charge Nurse as well as a “super user for everything”, according to her supervisor Lynn Leslie, RN, director of both the critical and progressive care units at the hospital. She served as super user for the recent implementation of the Paragon computer system for not only staff, but also physicians. “The doctors would just call her directly for help knowing she could help them maneuver through the system,” said Leslie. Not only is Fago a great help to her coworkers and physicians, she serves as a preceptor for students in training as well as new nurses to the unit. “She takes them under her wing and does a great job explaining and demonstrating all techniques and policies of our department,” added Leslie. Fago is well organized and a multi-tasker. She rarely ever calls in sick and does her very best to be at work as scheduled and even picks up extra shifts if needed. “Suzy is just one example of the caliber of employees we have working throughout Oconee Medical Center,” said Vice President of Nursing, Pat Smith, RN. “We are blessed with so many people who truly embrace and exhibit the values of our organization in everything they do.”
