Report finds Americans to be Honest

It’s not a scientifically accurate poll but according to a report by Honest Tea, the producer of the nation’s top selling organic bottled tea, Americans seem to be fairly honest. The company set up free standing booths with a bunch of bottles and a cash box and a sign that said “honor system, $1 a bottle” in all 50 states. Seth Goldman, President and CEO of the company, explains how honest Americans are.  “Over 92% of Americans choose to put money in the box.” Goldman says that men and women are both pretty honest but women were a little more honest than men. “With respect to men and women, women were 95% honest and men were 91% honest.” Two states scored 100%, concludes Goldman. “Alabama and Hawaii both had 100% honest results and then other states like Indiana and Maine came in at 99%, so, that was interesting to see.” South Carolina scored 94%, Georgia had a 93% honest result and North Carolina scored 90%.  The poll was conducted from July 8-18 at 61 locations throughout the country, with data collected on how many people paid for the beverages.
