Safe Harbor announces Valentine’s Challenge

Safe Harbor announces another community challenge to help raise money for Oconee County’s first domestic violence shelter. At a press conference Wednesday at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, Safe Harbor officials spoke about the “Valentine’s Challenge”.  Officials said that the first $100,000 challenge made by Bob and Fran Hanson back in March has been matched and that over $700,000 has been raised for the Safe Harbor domestic violence shelter in Oconee County.  The new $100,000 challenge that officially started Wednesday and will last through Valentine’s Day next year is being called the “Valentine’s Day Challenge”.  Every dollar raised, now through February 14th, 2014, will be matched up to $100,000 by an anonymous donor.  For more information on Safe Harbor, visit their website at http://safeharborsc.org.
