Deputies discover Meth Lab during Domestic Call

Deputies with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals on meth charges after responding to a domestic call Tuesday morning in Salem.  Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details.  “24-year-old Russell Howard Rogers of 320 Russell Drive in Salem has been charged with possession and manufacturing of methamphetamines.  Another individual, 64-year-old Dorothy Louise Moody of the same address has been charged with possession of methamphetamines.  Both individuals were arrested at the Russell Drive location. Deputies responded to a call at the Russell Drive address in Salem in regards to a domestic dispute between a mother and her son.  Upon arrival, deputies discovered a shake and bake style meth lab in plain view outside that location.  Deputies then notified narcotics agents from the Sheriff’s Office who arrived on scene and cleaned up the meth lab.  According to narcotics officers, investigators were able to determine during the course of their investigation that a second meth lab had been discarded in a wooded area off of Oconee Creek Road in the Walhalla area. Narcotics agents discovered another shake and bake style meth lab at the Walhalla location and disposed of that meth lab as well.  Drugs were found on the person of both Rogers and Moody.  Moody is not the mother of Rogers even though they are listed as having the same address.” The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case.
