AAA Carolinas Reports That Gas Prices Continue To Rise In The State Of South Carolina

(Seneca, SC)————-AAA Carolinas is reporting that gas prices continue to climb across South Carolina as well as the nation, even surpassing the averages from a year ago at this time.

In South Carolina, the average price for a gallon of gasoline is $2.47 a gallon, which is two cents higher than a week ago, 26 cents higher than a month ago and four cents higher than this time last year.

Even with the increase, South Carolina still has the fifth cheapest gasoline prices in the country and the amount is still lower than the national average of $2.74 a gallon.

Tiffany Wright from AAA Carolinas says that pump prices will remain on the rise as demand holds steady and inventories continue to tighten. Wright also says that besides the usual jump in prices in the spring, there has also been some unexpected and planned maintenance to refineries as well.
