Additional Arrest in 19th Operation Infinity

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announces an additional arrest in the nineteenth “Operation Infinity” drug sweep round-up that began on June 4. Twenty-one subjects have been sought as part of this particular roundup on a variety of drug charges involving methamphetamine, heroin, and prescription drugs while some of the subjects had unlawful neglect of a child charges obtained against them and some had a charge of attempting to purchase Pseudoephedrine above the legal limit. The most recent subject arrested was 29-year-old Preston Allen Cox, who has addresses listed in West Union and Westminster. he stands charged with two counts of distribution of methamphetamine. Cox was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 4am Monday after a traffic stop by the Westminster Police Department. Custody of Cox was transferred to deputies from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. At this time, Cox remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center on a combined $30,000 surety bond. His arrest brings the total arrested so far in the operation to fifteen. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
