Additional arrest in Operation Infinity Drug Sweep

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announces an additional arrest in the seventeenth “Operation Infinity” drug sweep round-up that began on Aug. 31. The Sheriff’s Office teamed with law enforcement partners from the Salem and Walhalla Police Departments in this operation. In all, 23 individuals were being sought on a variety of drug charges involving methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, prescription drugs and an unlawful neglect of a child charge. The latest person arrested was 28-year-old Cortez Ramon Anderson of Westminster for distribution of methamphetamine, first offense. Anderson was given a $30,000 surety bond on the charge. He was also served outstanding warrants for a probation violation and for a charge of domestic violence in the third degree from the Westminster Police Department. Anderson was given a $20,000 surety bond on that charge and bond has yet to be set for that. So far, 20 individuals have been arrested or were already in jail and have been served their arrest warrants. That total includes two individuals arrested who were not among those originally being sought in the roundup. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
