Additional Arrest in Operation Opioid Battle

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announces an additional arrest in “Operation Opioid Battle.” The Sheriff’s Office and the Seneca Police Department executed two search warrants at two separate locations, one on Brookwood Drive near Seneca and the other on Daniel Avenue inside the city limits of Seneca. The search warrants were obtained based upon the controlled purchases of narcotics from both locations by Narcotics Agents of both agencies, which involved the purchase of heroin as well as methamphetamine. In all, eight individuals were arrested as part of the execution of the search warrants. This additional arrest brings the total number arrested to nine. The latest arrestee was 45-year-old Candace Michelle McMahan of Seneca for distribution of methamphetamine and distribution of heroin. She was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Aug. 2, and given a combined $20,000 surety bond. She was released after posting bond. Both agencies are continuing their investigations.
