Adopting is easy at the OHS

Adopting is easy at the Oconee Humane Society (OHS). Residents looking for that forever furry friend are encouraged to visit online or in person, tells Angel Newman, Volunteer Coordinator at the OHS. “We are really full, so we encourage anybody looking to open their heart and home to a pet to come by and check out our wonderful dogs and cats. You can look online at www.oconeehumane.org and see all the pets that are available. Then if you want to come down in person and spend some time with them, we have separate facilities where we can bring a dog or cat into the room, so they can spend time with your family or other pets that you have to be sure it is going to be a match for you. Then it is a simple adoption application for the cats or the dogs and then you can take them home that day. They are spayed or neutered, they are microchipped, have all their shots and they are ready to go.” OHS adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 2pm. The OHS is located at 1925 Sandifer Boulevard in Seneca.
