Affordable Care Act Info Events

On October 1st open enrollment to purchase health insurance through the Federally Facilitated Health Insurance Exchange begins and residents are encouraged to do some homework before signing up.  Two area events are planned to help uninsured adults in the Upstate learn about the new insurance exchange, so can enroll in an affordable health insurance plan that best suits their needs.  The first informational event takes place on Monday, October 7th at 6:30pm in Seneca’s Gignilliat Center, 621 North Townville Street.  The second is planned for Tuesday, October 8th at 6:30pm in the Anderson County Library, 300 North McDuffie Street.  Qualified health insurance navigators will be on hand to help individuals learn about the new health insurance plans and how to enroll. These events are made possible by a group of concerned citizens in partnership with local hospitals and health organizations including AnMed Health, Oconee Medical Center, Mountain Lakes Access Health, Clemson Free Clinic, Anderson Free Clinic, Anderson Chamber, and Deco, the eligibility specialist organization awarded a federal grant to provide health insurance exchange navigators for the Upstate of South Carolina.
