Alexander assumes Committee Chair position

In a re-organization of the State Senate, Oconee County’s Thomas Alexander assumes the chair of the Labor, Commerce, and Industry Committee. Such appointments in the Senate are based on seniority, and Senator Alexander says he could never have achieved the position without the support of the voters of District One, who have elected him every time since 1994. Not lost on the Republican senator is that, now, both he and District Two House member Bill Sandifer of Seneca chair the Labor, Commerce, and Industry committees in the two legislative chambers. Senator Alexander says that presents a unique opportunity for them to help bring jobs to Oconee County.
