Almost $22K in Federal Funding Allotted to Oconee United Way for Food & Shelter Programs

Oconee County has been selected to receive nearly $22,000 in federal funding for food and shelter purposes. The Oconee County United Way announced the monies are awarded under “FEMA’s” emergency food and shelter program. A local board of directors will meet to decide how the funds are to be distributed. Emergency food and shelter programs operated by local service organizations are eligible to apply. No applications from individuals will be accepted. A meeting will be held April 12. Any agency interested in applying for a portion of the funds should contact the United Way no later than 1:00pm on Thursday, April 10.
