American Legion Day

Today is American Legion Day, explains District 13 Commander Carlton Patterson.  “September 16^th is American Legion Day here in the City of Seneca.  Our Mayor Dan Alexander signed a proclamation making American Legion Day September 16^th.  That is when the American Legion was awarded its charter in 1919.” District 13 comprises Commander Carlton Patterson The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to service members and veterans.
