Anderson County Coroner’s Office And SLED Investigating Wednesday Officer Involved Shooting In Anderson County

(Seneca, SC)————-The Anderson County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred yesterday afternoon near Belton that resulted in a death.

According to a press release, the Coroner’s Office responded to an address on Simpson Street around 5:30pm in regards to a 37 year old white male that died after being shot by Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies.  The Coroner’s Office says that the investigation indicates that the victim was shot after he came out of a family member’s residence with a gun.

According to the Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred around 4:45pm.  The Coroner’s Office says in their release that the deceased exited the family member’s residence armed with a rifle and engaged deputies who were at the residence to serve a warrant.

The Coroner’s Office has announced that the deceased has been identified as Thomas Michael Reynolds of Belton.

An autopsy of the deceased is scheduled for today.  The Coroner’s Office says that the decedent sustained three gunshot wounds resulting in his death.
