Anderson County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina law Enforcement Division Investigating Inmate death at anderson City jail

(Seneca, SC)———-The Anderson County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating today the death of a federal inmate that was incarcerated at the Anderson City Jail.

The victim, according to the Coroner’s Office, has been identified as 44 year old Barry Dale King of Easley.

According to the Coroner’s Office release, the victim was discovered by Detention Officers last Friday morning around 6:20am in his jail call. The victim was pronounced dead around 6:29am last Friday.

The Coroner’s Office has ruled the cause of death as a suicide due to asphyxiation secondary to ligature hanging. The decedent was alone in his cell at the time of the event.

An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow and the Coroner’s Office says that there is no indication of foul play.
