Anderson County Experienced Sanitary Sewer Overflows This Week

Due to heavy rains this week, Anderson County Wastewater has experienced Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO’s) at three pump stations – Hembree Creek, Stonehaven and Gilmer. Estimated combined overflows from the three pump stations totaled approximately 110,000 gallons, officials said. The Department of Health and Environmental Control was immediately notified, and leaders said they haven’t received any reports of anyone being harmed. County leaders said public notice signs will remain up for at least a week at each site.
