Andrew Pickens to be discussed at World of Energy Forum

Duke Energy’s World of Energy education center at Oconee Nuclear Station will host “Andrew Pickens: A Biography” at 10am on Tuesday, March 6, explains Mikayla Kreuzberger, Corporate Communications for Duke Energy’s World of Energy. “This free, educational program is part of the World of Energy’s continued celebration of the 150th anniversaries of Oconee and Pickens counties. Clemson University professor Rod Andrew, Ph.D., is the featured speaker on Andrew Pickens, a Revolutionary War hero who shaped much of our area and settled his home on the banks of the Seneca River near Clemson. Andrew is a specialist in the history of the American South and U.S. military history. Andrew’s biography of Pickens, published by the University of North Carolina Press in February of 2017, is the most comprehensive biography of Pickens.” All World of Energy events are free and open to the public.
