The School District of Oconee County announces that applying for free and reduced price meals online has started.  School officials state that the process is safe, secure, private and available anytime, anywhere.  Visit www.heartlandapps.com to apply 24/7.  Parents may also apply at their child’s school, the local library, or contact Food Services at 864-886-4400 ext. 6178 and they can assist you.   Paper applications are also available at your child’s school office, the District Office, or may be printed from www.oconee.k12.sc.us.  Simply click on Food Services and then the Forms/Links option. To apply online, follow these easy steps: visit www.heartlandapps.com, select South Carolina and the school district, follow the step-by-step screens to enter student and household information, then click “Apply”.  Your data is transmitted to the Food Service Department at the District Office the same day you apply, allowing for quicker processing.  Applying online will permit you to receive benefits faster.  You may check on the status of your application within 48 hours.  Visit www.schoollunchstatus.com to receive your child’s eligibility status.  This service is secure, fast and at no cost 24/7.  To check the status of your application online, follow these steps: visit www.schoollunchstatus.com, select South Carolina, and the school district, enter the required information (student’s ID and last name) and then click “Submit” to view your application status.  Parents will also be able to check on the status of their application at your child’s school office or by contacting Food Services at the District Office at 864-886-4400 ext. 6178.
