Bryan Ashley Evans

In an unrelated investigation, this past Thursday night, a patrolling police officer in a Walhalla neighborhood noticed an open door during the midnight hour. Upon seeing the shadowy figure of a man through a window, the officer acted on his suspicions and arrested 44-year-old Bryan Ashley Evans on multiple charges. The officer knew that the house was under renovation and contacted the owner, who confirmed that no one was supposed to be inside.

According to arrest warrants, Evans is facing charges of assaulting a police officer while resisting arrest, malicious injury to real property over $10,000, possession of less than 1 gram of meth or cocaine base for the third or subsequent time, theft of electric current, possession or making of burglary tools, and second-degree burglary. Bond has been set at a total of $55,000 and he remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center.
