Arrest Made in Pickens County Hit-and-Run Assault

On Monday, January 5, 2026, Pickens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a fight in progress in the 300 block of Banks Road in Pickens, South Carolina, where they found a male victim with serious injuries after being intentionally struck by a vehicle. Detectives identified the suspect as Luther Frederick Allen, who was located later that night in possession of the suspected vehicle, taken into custody without incident, and charged with attempted murder; he is currently held without bond at the Pickens County Detention Center.
