Arrest made on Drug and Stolen Vehicle Charges in OC

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man on New Year’s Eve on drug and stolen vehicle charges.  During routine road patrol, an Oconee County Sheriff’s deputy traveling on Highway 59 observed a Honda traveling extremely close to the centerline of the roadway.  The deputy saw the vehicle turn down Hideaway Lane and according to the incident report, after seeing the deputy; the vehicle made a sharp right turn and went into a driveway.  The deputy pulled in behind the vehicle and ran the tag, which came back to a vehicle reported stolen from Anderson.  A K-9 unit responded and the dog detected some type of narcotic in the car. Upon a search, deputies found a small bag, which contained a substance that appeared to be methamphetamine. The driver, 35-year-old Jeremy Stephen Black was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a stolen vehicle.  He was released from the Oconee County Detention Center on $20,000 bond.
