ATLANTA OFFICIAL TO ADDRESS OCONEE NAACP

Atlanta, Georgia city councilman Michael Julian Bond will head to Oconee this weekend to speak at an event, sponsored by the Oconee Branch of the NAACP. Bond’s father, Julian Bond, was a civil rights activist and a leader in the movement. He’ll speak at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon to the Oconee NAACP Branch 65th Annual Black History Tea. It’s a free event at the Seneca River Missionary Baptist Association Family Life Center at 298 Poplar Street, and everyone is invited.
