Autopsies Confirm Causes of Two Unrelated Deaths

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis confirmed autopsy results for two recent deaths. Bernard Daniels, 69 of Westminster, died from smoke inhalation in a house fire early Friday on Retreat Street, with his death ruled accidental.
In a separate case, Richard Christian Craig, 21 of the Westminster/Fair Play area, was found dead Saturday beneath the Blackjack Road bridge over Lake Hartwell. Preliminary autopsy findings indicate he died from hypothermia due to environmental exposure, with non-fatal injuries consistent with a fall. His death is also classified as accidental, and toxicology results are pending.
