Bail denied for Murder Defendant

It is back to jail for an Oconee County murder defendant.  Sister station WGOG reports that Judge Alex Macaulay found Joshua Randall Ferguson a potential danger to the community and refused to set bail. Ferguson is accused of shooting Charles Benson Cantrell in the back on a Friday night last month near Seneca. Ferguson’s fiancée, Kelli Cantrell, said the defendant was the sole provider for her and their children and that his incarceration has created hardship for them. However, the judge was told by assistant solicitor Blair Stoudemire that the shooting occurred as the result of an argument that went “horribly wrong”. No trial date has been set.
