Ballot set for Special Election in Salem

The ballot is set for a special election to fill the unexpired term of mayor in the Town of Salem. Two candidates have entered the race, says Oconee County Voter Registration and Elections Director Joy Scharich. “The Town of Salem will be holding their election on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at their normal precinct. They have two candidates running for the one office that is open. We have Kevin Douglas Talley and Lynn Frank Towe.” Both candidates currently serve on the Salem Town Council. The special election is being held to fill the remaining term of the late Diane Head, who passed away this summer after several years serving as mayor.
