Baseball Bobcats loose to Bishop England in State Championship

The Seneca High School (SHS) varsity baseball team lost a heart breaker to Bishop England, 1-0, Tuesday night in Game 2 of the AAA State Championship Series. A large crowd packed SHS’s Coach Mac Field to watch a pitcher’s dual as the Battling Bishops’ Geoffrey Gilbert squared off with the Bobcats’ Ryan Moore in a game that only allowed a few hits. Gilbert struck out six batters, while Moore fanned five hitters. Bishop England scored their lone run in the top of the third inning after two walks and a single. This is the second year in a row that Seneca has lost to Bishop England in the AAA State Baseball Championship Series. The Bobcats end their season with a 19-10 record and back-to-back Upper State Titles.
