BB&T opening interrupted by Deer

Just before opening for business Monday morning, a deer broke through the front glass at the BB&T Bank in Seneca. It damaged the bank before being caught, tells Seneca Fire Chief Jan Oliver. “We received a call shortly before 9am that there was a deer in BB&T Bank. Two of my firefighters responded over to check it out. Once they arrived on scene there was indeed a six-point buck that had crashed through a window and was just wrecking havoc inside the bank. There were two DNR officers that arrived and two city police officers and between the six of them, they managed to herded the deer into an office and catch him. They threw a blanket over him to try to calm him. They caught the deer and carried him out behind the bank, turned him lose and he headed into the wooded area down behind Harbor Freight and Wendy’s and all.” The deer suffered a cut, but everyone else was uninjured. The bank is still open; however, customers are being asked to use the drive-thru window to conduct business.
