Beware of Potential COVID-19 Phone Scams

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is warning people of a potential COVID-19 scam. The Sheriff’s Office was notified by a citizen that they received a call from something called the Coronavirus Hotline that stated that if they were on Medicare that they would eligible to receive a free Coronavirus home test kit, which is certainly untrue. The citizen spoke with someone who had an accent who asked for personal information.
