Board of Commissioners of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority Met This Week

The Board of Commissioners of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority met for a called meeting this week and went into executive session to receive an update and legal advice from their attorney regarding a proposed agreement in regards to the “Sewer South” project. The meeting was in response to a letter sent from the Oconee County Attorney at the direction of Oconee County Council to the Joint Regional Sewer Authority which included a few recommendations from Council, which included a seat for Council on the board of Joint Regional Sewer Authority. The reply letter was in response to an original letter sent from the Sewer Authority to the Council.

The Board discussed the County’s counter proposal and received legal advice from their Attorney. The Board nominated Board Chairman Scott Parris and Eleazer to request to be added to Council County agenda for their meeting next week to present to Council what was discussed in executive session in regards to the recommendations or requests made by council.

Eleazer said that matters discussed during the executive session would be revealed when he and Parris would have a chance to address the County Council.
