Board of Elections Office Could Move From Current Location

On Thursday during a meeting of Oconee County’s Board of Registrations and Elections, it was revealed that in order for employees to have a space to work each day, an area that is being used for storage must be cleared because, well, the entire place is being used for storage.

Soon to be retired, long time Board of Voter Registration and Elections Director Joy Sharich, led the meeting and indicated that, if there is space available that has been vacated, it could be time to look at moving their offices from the current Pine Street location in Walhalla to a more centralized location within the county, like the former Hamilton Career Center at Bountyland…
