Bobcats advance to Second Round of State Football Playoffs

The Seneca Bobcats advanced to the second round of the AAA State Football Playoffs Friday night by beating the Clinton Red Devils 18-14 at Bobcat Stadium in the first round. The Bobcats scored first on a 66-yard touchdown run by Jeremiah Mackey. Later in the first quarter, Hunter Pearson connected on a 40-yard field goal to give Seneca a 10-0 lead. The Red Devils bounced back in the second quarter scoring two late touchdowns to make the score 14-10 at the half. With time running out in the fourth quarter, the Bobcats scored on a 7-yard touchdown run by Shawntravis Holden, then added a two-point conversion on a pass from Cole Bay to Rome Tabron. The Bobcats held on for a 18-14 win. Seneca advances to the second round where it will host the Palmetto Mustangs Friday at 7:30pm in Bobcat Stadium.
