Bobcats topple Tigers in Iva

The Seneca Bobcats traveled to Iva Friday night for a AAA Region 1 game with the Crescent Tigers. The Bobcats toppled the Tigers, 29-0, to improve to 6-3 on the season and 3-0 in region play. Seneca scored first on a 42-yard pass from quarterback Cole Bay to wide receiver Coleman Smith. Later in the first quarter linebacker JJ White intercepted a pass to set up a 23-yard field goal by Hunter Pearson to make it 10-0. In the second quarter, Bobcat running back Jeremiah Mackey ran 50-yards for a touchdown and Bay connected with wide receiver Aireeze Alexander on a 44-yard touchdown pass. At the half, Seneca led 24-0. With a running clock in the second half, the Bobcats added a safety by White and a 40-yard field goal by AJ McRoberts. With the win, the Bobcats need to beat the Pendleton Bulldogs on Friday night, Oct. 27, to win the region title.
