BODY FOUND NEAR THE GEORGIA-SOUTH CAROLINA BORDER

The sheriff of Stephens County, Georgia says the body found Saturday morning at the Broken Bridges near U-S 123 and the state line between Stephens County, Georgia and Oconee County, South Carolina was that of a Lumpkin County, Georgia woman. She is now identified as Pamela Bellamy, 65-year old resident of Dahlonega. Stephens Sheriff Randy Shirley made the following statement to Toccoa’s WNEG: “The body was discovered this (Saturday) morning by a family walking their dog. Preliminary investigations reveal that a white female from Lumpkin County traveled to Stephens County Boat Ramp and Park during the late hours of Friday or early hours of Saturday morning. We are currently in the process of notifying family members.” The body was taken to the state police crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.
