Bomb Threat at CU’s Hendrix Student Center

Clemson University Police are investigating a bomb threat to the Hendrix Student Center.  Monday morning, authorities were informed of a bomb threat and the building was immediately evacuated.  Standard procedure in bomb threat cases is for the area to be cleared before officers begin their search of the property.  Authorities found nothing suspicious in the building.  Students and faculty returned to the Hendrix Student Center after 45-minutes.  Clemson University has posted information regarding bomb threats on its website at www.clemson.edu.  It states that bomb threats should always be treated as though there actually is a bomb until all facts are evaluated and authorities can thoroughly search the area.  Information is also given about what to do if you receive a bomb threat.  Each building on campus has a safety coordinator, who should be notified in order to begin the evacuation and assist police in their subsequent investigation.
