Braves blast Pirates

Three two-run home runs lift Kris Medlen and the Atlanta Braves to Monday night’s 7-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Turner Field. Jason Heyward, Brian McCann and Freddie Freeman all hit two-run homers and Medlen gained more than enough support to win for the first time in ten starts.  The Braves, who now own a seven-game lead in the NL East race, have hit at least three home runs in 13 of their first 57 games. They did so in 11 games all of last year. The Atlanta Braves are now 35-22 on the season.  Catch all the exciting action of Atlanta Braves baseball here on WSNW.
