Burt Reynolds to be part of Movie shooting in Seneca

Hollywood icon, Burt Reynolds, is coming to Seneca later this month to star in a movie filming across Oconee County.  Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander announced the legendary actor is part of the cast of “Elbow Grease”, which starts filming on September 30th. A number of area locations have been selected as the backdrop for scenes in the movie and one of the major set pieces will take place on Ram Cat Alley in downtown Seneca, explains Mayor Alexander.  “It is great for the economy and it is great for Seneca.  We are excited because they are going to be using Ram Cat Alley to film some of the movie in and parts of Lake Keowee and the surrounding areas of Oconee County.  So, a lot of this film is going to be filmed here in Oconee County.” On Monday, October 7, Ram Cat Alley will be closed to the public. Movie producers plan to shoot a fictitious street festival complete with vendor booths and music stage.  Mayor Alexander said this film is a good thing for the Golden Corner.  “To have this Hollywood film coming here, we are excited because we feel that brings a good thing to Seneca and Oconee County.” The film is expected to shoot at locations across the county for 60-90 days.
