Business Owner charged after death in Kayak Accident

An Upstate business owner is facing criminal charges after giving a man the wrong size life jacket and later he drowned in a kayak accident.  The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources announces that the owner of Jocassee Outdoor Center, Charlie Michael, was charged with duty of boat livery.  Apparently, Michael gave 25-year-old Anlin Wang the wrong size jacket.  Wang was a Clemson University student and he and his wife were kayaking when they capsized.  Although both wore life jackets, Wang was unable to swim.  Oconee County Fire Chief Charles King said rescuers found Wang’s body on March 17. The coroner said he died from fresh water drowning.
