Prescribed Fire Today

The U.S.Forest Service will be conducting a prescribe burn today off of Rich Mtn in Mtn Rest of approximately 200 acres. Smoke may be visible from Hwy 28 and Cassidy Bridge but should be minimal. Objectives of the burn include wildlife habitat and fuels reduction. Operations should begin around 11:30 and be appreciably burned out by 5:00pm.
