US Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao announced $800 million in airport safety and infrastructure grants to 46 states on Tuesday, and it appears that the Oconee Regional Airport could be in line to receive about $69,000 in CARES Act funding. That money, for which the local airport has applied, is to be used to offset lost revenues due to COVID-19.
