All branches of the Oconee County Public Library (OCPL) will be closed for Memorial Day weekend from Saturday, May 26, through Monday, May 28. The virtual branch at www.oconeelibrary.org, will be available, and book returns will be open at all branches. The branches will resume normal hours on Tuesday, May 29.

An examination was completed Tuesday on Anna McCall Mimms. At approximately 3:15pm Sunday, Mimms fell into the Whitewater River and was swept over the Lower Falls. Her body was recovered Monday afternoon. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis reports that she died from blunt force traumatic injuries associated with the fall. Her manner of death is classified as accidental.
