Brush Fire spreads to Newry Mill Roof

Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire atop the old Newry Mill Wednesday afternoon. The fire started when strong winds blew embers from a nearby brush fire on to the roof of the adjacent mill. Firefighters acted quickly to contain the fire to the exterior on the southwest corner of the building.

TCTC raising Tuition

Tuition is going up at Tri-County Technical College (TCTC). At their meeting this week, the TCTC Commission unanimously approved increasing tuition by 3.7% for in-state students, effective with the 2018-19 academic year that begins in August.
