Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis announces that the recent death of a Seneca woman has been ruled a homicide. Addis says that 92-year-old Alma Louise Gaines of 689 Henderson Drive in Seneca, died at 3:24am on Jan. 17, 2018 at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca. Bleach being used to eliminate Store Odor

The Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority hopes a bleach solution will alleviate the smell that has resulted in the closing of the Family Dollar store near Seneca. The Family Dollar located at the intersection of Friendship Road and Wells Highway remained closed over the weekend with a sign about the closing posted on the front door.

Agenda set for Seneca City Council Meeting

The Seneca City Council meets tonight, Jan. 30, to establish the Seneca Development Incentive Committee, choose bands for Memorial Day weekend and select Oconee County Sesquicentennial banners. The city council first meets for a work session and then a special called meeting. The meetings are scheduled for 6pm at Seneca City Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
