PC Man sentenced to 30 Years for Murder

On Wednesday, a Pickens County man was found guilty of murder. The 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office reports that John McCarty was sentenced to 30 years in the shooting death of Mitchell Bradley. The incident happened in July of 2015 at McCarty’s home. McCarty’s attorney requested that the case be dismissed under the “Castle Doctrine”.

Jury finds Collins Guilty of Murder

Wednesday afternoon, an Oconee County jury found 26-year-old Kenneth Strother Collins guilty of murder, kidnapping, and the possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
