Chief Kelley announces Retirement

Walhalla Fire Chief Doug Kelley has announced his retirement. Tuesday night, Chief Kelley told the Walhalla City Council during their committee meetings that his last day will be Feb. 16, 2017. The Walhalla City Council plans to act on Chief Kelley’s retirement during their regular monthly meeting in January, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Early this morning a hiker was rescued from Table Rock State Park. According to Pickens County Emergency Management, the hiker suffered minor injuries.
