Makeup Date announced for Candidate Forum

A make-up date and new location have been arranged for a couple of Oconee County political candidates. The next Limited Government for Oconee County meeting will be 5:30pm Wednesday at Seneca’s Gignilliat Community Center. Both candidates, Paul Cain and Andy Inabinet who are running for the Oconee County Council District 3 seat have agreed to be there.

Scenic Highway Committee cancellation

The Planning and Zoning Division of the Oconee County Community Development Office announces that the Scenic Highway Committee meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled due to last minute scheduling conflicts with some members. The conflicts would leave the Committee without a quorum. A new meeting date will be established in the very near future.

As the noon hour closed yesterday, only one candidate filed to succeed retiring Judge Alex Macaulay of West Union. Seneca Attorney Scott Sprouse is the lone candidate who filed with the State Judicial Merit Selection Commission.
