Andrew Suarez pitched a six-hit shutout to lead Miami (FL) to a 7-0 win over Clemson at Alex Rodriguez Park on Sunday afternoon.  The Hurricanes won the series 2-1.  The Tigers fall to 27-13 overall and 13-8 in ACC play. Clemson will host Western Carolina at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday at 6:30pm.

Five members of Clemson’s track & field program, three men and two women, were named to the All-ACC Academic Indoor Team this week. Daniel Dey, Martin Maloney and Ty McCormick were honored from the Tiger men’s team, while All-ACC pole vaulter Lauren Terstappen and classmate Christy Gasparino received honors among the Clemson women.

Due to inclement weather, the Clemson (26-11) versus Furman (19-16) baseball game scheduled for Wednesday night at Doug Kingsmore Stadium was postponed.  The game will be made up on May 7 at 6:30pm at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

The Kansas City Royals snapped the Atlanta Braves’ 10-game winning streak Wednesday afternoon with a 1-0 victory at Turner Field. Clemson’s Spring Game this past Saturday may cost the Tigers two key players this fall.  Starting tight end Sam Cooper and back up quarterback Chad Kelly both suffered torn ACL injuries. A walkoff single down the right-field line gave Clemson a 5-4 win over Presbyterian College at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday night.  The Tigers, who won their seventh game in a row, improved to 23-11 on the season with the win. Clemson will host Wake Forest in a three-game ACC series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium starting Friday at 6:30pm.
