Century Old Windmill Dedicated at FARM Center

A windmill that was originally raised on an Aiken County farm in 1923 was dedicated yesterday at the FARM Center. The refurbished piece of history originally belonged to Ralph Shuler and stood on his 160-acre farm.

In 1972, Shuler’s grandson Keith “Sam” Shuler, dismantled the 47-foot tall windmill and stored it for the next fifty years in Salem. When Sam died in 2019, his wife and daughter found the windmill and donated it to the FARM Center, where it was refurbished and dedicated to Sam’s memory.
